Add ons

are additional modules for search engines that expand the functionality of the basic module.

CASPARDO offers many different add ons, e.g. the CASPARDO Translate Dictionary.

With this add on, search words, that wouldn’t normally lead to a search result, are compared to translate rules and automatically translated into an existing search word.

The Translate Dictionary will ensure an accurate search result for users who do not know the formal terms for a particular search word.

Advertizer

is a CASPARDO add on that enables custom keyword ads for your company website.

Advanced Search

Includes a variety of options for refining the search result.

Typical options are „Non accurate Search“, „Search Word starts with...“ and „Includes...“

After-Search-Navigation

Structured and ordered display of search results. The website navigation is usually included in the After-Search-Navigation, plus many more custom setting possibilities than enablethe user to refine the search result.

Autocomplete

Innovative feature for search engines that automatically completes the search word that has been typed in by the user. Autocomplete reduces typing mistakes and increases the usability and performance of the search engine.

Browser Plugin

With the Browser plugin, the user is able to integrate your company’s search engine in their browser and make use of it at any time, regardless on which website the user is surfing.

This feature is particurlarly useful and a big competitive advantage for content portals or web shops. Traffic and sales volume from the internet can be channeled back the the company’s website.

A powerful on site search and the installation of the browser plugin in the user’s browser is required.

CASPARDO Search Engine

The CASPARDO Search Engine was developed in 2007 in Hamburg, Germany. The multi-index search engine can be used for content websites and e-Commerce shops.

On a yearly basis, the CASPARDO Search Engine is ganted the prestigious TÜV-SÜD certificate for functionality, usability and data privacy.

Cloud

The CASPARDO add on „Cloud“ is a powerful tool that generates tag clouds of the most frequently used keywords.

All the keywords are displayed as a cloud and rotate continuously.

Content Management System

A CMS simplifies the configuration of websites for webmasters. CMS systems usually include their own search engines that lack many important functionalities.

Running text, pictures, videos and geo tagging can be defned as content of a website.
Content is usually readouted by a -> Crawler and processed by a Retreval System.

Crawler

A crawler (also: Spider or Robot) visits and reads out websites on a regular basis (-> Update Cycle). A crwaler is a basic functionality of every search engine.

The central idea of protecting and respecting the privacy of internet users.

CASPARDO search engines value data privacy, therefore no personal data is saved and/or further processed.

"Did you mean...?"-Feature

If the user enters misspelled or non-existent keywords into the search screen, the CASPARDO search engines offer alternative search words (keywords) so the user will get a search result in any case.

Information Retrieval System

This module structures and processes the ->content that has been recorded by a -> crawler.

Integrity, availability and confidentiality of IT systems have to be guarenteed at all times.
CASPARDO systems operate on special hardware platforms only. These high standard platforms are monitored 24/7 so no data loss will occur.

Keyword

Basic term in the context of search engines. A keyword is entered into the search screen of a search engine. Keywords can also be set by the webmaster for improving the search engine exposure.

Entry of several keywords into the search screen of a search engine.

On Site Search

An on site search is implemented on a company’s website only.

The user enters a search word into the search mask and hits ENTER.

Update Cycle

defines the scheduled frequency of content updates of the search engine.

If there are only small changes of content, one update per day will suffice. Whereas news portals or webshops should conform the search results several times per hour.
